Commercial concrete is judged on two things: whether the work is right, and whether it happened when it was supposed to. A slab poured beautifully two weeks late still costs somebody money.
SM Construction LLC works on commercial properties across Phoenix and the surrounding Valley, both directly for owners and property managers and as a concrete subcontractor to general contractors. We are licensed under Arizona ROC #358800, bonded and insured.
What This Work Solves
Work that has to fit a schedule
On a commercial job the trades either side of concrete are already booked. We would rather give a realistic date and hit it than an optimistic one and move it, and we tell you early if something changes.
Keeping a property operating
Tenants, customers and deliveries do not stop for concrete work. Phasing the pour, sequencing sections and working outside business hours where it makes sense are all ways of keeping a site usable while the work goes in.
Access and accessibility requirements
Walkways, ramps, landings and parking connections on commercial property have accessibility requirements attached, and slope and transition tolerances are part of the work rather than an afterthought.
Documentation a contractor actually needs
General contractors need current licensing, bonding and insurance on file, and they need estimates in enough detail to compare. That paperwork should not be something you have to chase.

How We Do It
Scope the work against the schedule
We start from the drawings or the site walk and from your dates, and tell you what is realistic before anything is committed.
Provide documentation up front
Licensing, bonding and insurance information goes over with the estimate rather than after an award.
Plan phasing and access
Where the property stays in use, we agree how the work is sequenced, what stays open and where equipment and trucks will be.
Prepare and coordinate
Removal, excavation, base and compaction are carried out, and any work from other trades that has to be in before concrete is confirmed complete.
Place and finish
Concrete is placed and finished to the specification, with the crew sized so placing and finishing keep pace on larger pours.
Close out
Joints cut, site cleaned, and a clear handover of when each area can go back into service.
Commercial Concrete: Common Questions
Do you work as a subcontractor for general contractors?
Yes. Taking the concrete package on commercial and residential projects is a core part of what we do, and we are happy to be added to a subcontractor or vendor list. Current licensing, bonding and insurance documentation is available on request.
Can you work outside business hours?
Yes. On occupied commercial properties, evening, overnight and weekend work is often the only sensible way to do it, and in an Arizona summer moving a large pour out of the daytime heat can be the better choice for the concrete as well.
Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes — licensed under Arizona ROC #358800, bonded and insured. Certificates and current documentation are provided on request.
How do I get a commercial estimate?
Send the plans or the scope through the estimate form, or call 602-384-8990. For anything of size we will want to walk the site. Estimates are based on the actual scope of the project rather than a square-foot rate applied without looking.
